The assignment is to define what it means to be disobedient in an educational setting to you. Think of ways it can be productive and ways it can be a bad thing. When you talk about disobedience in education how would you define it? That is your focus. It is just you figuring out how you define disobedience in education and if disobedience has a place in education. Are there things about our educational system that need to be changed and if so what are they? What act of disobedience can help change them etc? Also, think about what we read from Fromm about what it means to be autonomous and heteronomous or rebel vs. revolutionary.
You need to come up with 5 points and write a paragraph on each topic. You need a total of two quotes for the entire assignment. One from the Fromm article and another from "The Perils of Obedience." You can use more. You can also reference class discussion and bring in your own life experiences. Just write.
This assignment needs to be typed, double spaced and in MLA format. Although it is technically an essay, this is really an exercise to get you thinking so don't worry so much about making it perfect just honor your ideas about the subject and write them out. Please proofread so I can understand your insights.
